Are you a musician? Do you like to play music or just listen to music? Either way you have to go and visit this place! Among other amazing things that you can see, learn and enjoy, for me was the Rossini area including the autographed manuscript of Il Barbiere di Siviglia! Yngwie Malmsteen’s Fender guitar is also here right at the entrance of the museum! I’ll stop here and I promise that you won’t be disappointed by this museum!

This is a great museum of musical instruments and manuscripts, dating from about the 16th century and later. It's well-laid out and there is plenty to see. It's probably interesting for young children as well as adults. One of the items on display is a musical score handwritten by Mozart himself. And there are decent toilets here. We were here in the winter and there was no queue to get in; the place was fairly quiet. If you are aged 65 or over, you get a reduction in admission price - the same is true for many other sites in Bologna and elsewhere in Italy. We weren't asked for proof of identity for this. Highly recommended.

This is a superb museum, if you are at all interested in the history of music.- in fact it's a must. The exhibits are absolutely fascinating, some quite breathtaking, and mostly marked in Italian and German. Well worth a visit!!

Small but very nice exhibition, well decorated. It's an elegant story about the solo contribution of Mr. Martini (if I'm not mistaken the name) on collecting and organising the history of music in his period. I would not claim it "international music museum" as it's misleading. The atmosphere is more of a gallery rather than a music museum where you have music played in all rooms. There is no interactive part, no translations in English on the labels and we haven't been proposed to the option of audio guide even though some icons suggest it. The interior design of the building is very nice and compliments the elegant atmosphere. The lady on the entrance was very charming and positive. The ticket of 5 euro is ok for the place.

This is a very lovely museum with lots of great antique instruments, books and lyrical scripts. It’s very well presented and kept, I really enjoyed the time I spent here looking at the various pieces in this wonderful collection. If you’re into music and you enjoy musical instruments I would definitely recommend visiting this lovely museum.
