Attended a ticketed event yesterday. The event was supposed to commence at 3pm but we were made to wait outside in the heat for more than 20 minutes. There was also a confusion of some attendees not receiving the QR code e-tickets for the event and had to solely rely on screenshot of bank transfer payment. As for the freebies and drink coupons, the young female Chinese staff at the entrance did not give us our drink coupon for our complimentary drink despite us being on time. After which, photocards were not given out to attendees who came 35 minutes after the event has started. The DJ started playing music before the first line of people could enter the venue, causing some of the attendees missing out on their favourite songs. DJ also played more J-Hope solo songs than any other member’s solo song and cutting off songs like Life Goes On and Spine Breaker midway which killed the vibe. The worst was the aircon was not working at all throughout the whole event. We were all sweating profusely and the heat was intolerable. Some attendees left before 4pm because of the heat. There was absolutely zero ventilation and this venue should be checked for health and safety hazard. And because we were dehydrated and had no drink coupons, we had no choice but to pay $10-$12 for a drink. But conveniently the drinks went 50% off when the event was almost ending. Wow so generous (not). The venue is so bad, it should have been a zero. Felt utterly shortchanged and disrespected to be treated like this. The only saving grace was the energy of the attendees which made us stay until the end. If you’re looking for a venue to throw a party, please look elsewhere… unless you’re throwing a sauna theme party.
This is a discoteque with a savoury past....and I mean yummy food kind. Unknown to a lot of clubbers that throng this establishment late at night, this place is transformed into food court selling economic rice or cai png during lunch time. HOW COOL IS THAT? 😄🔥 I visited at 11am, just when they open their doors and I was staring at this huge empty dancehall lined up with makeshift tables sporting the Cherry Kopitiam logo. 1 bucket of tiger bears please!?!?! Oh no, it's lunch time...so let's focus on the food, shall we? There's 2 racks full of cai png fare on offer with an equal spilt of vegetables and meat dishes. I think it's fair to say one would not be spoilt for options as every imaginable dish found at a reputable economic rice stall is represented here. I pick curry chicken, pepper stir fried beef and ladyfingers. The curry chicken is infused with lemon grass so it tastes pretty good while the beef was tenderly prepared and soft to bite on. The 2 meat and 1 vegetable selection costs me a grand total of $4.50 which is not a bad price for food in the CBD! With the ongoing promotion, you get to pay additional $1 for a cup of milktea. I had fun exploring the place and taking plenty of pictures and video for my YouTube channel. This is a good place to come again and hopefully, not too many other people would have found out about this place. Come again? Yes! For the disco!!! 😍 There is also a bakery selling cakes which looked rather enticing. I would make an effort to come again for the cakes.
I had so much fun! This club had a younger age range - probably 18 to late 20’s. Venue is a decent size and had good ventilation. However it was quite dark and slippery in some areas. There were 3-5 DJs on rotation so the night had a good mix of music, which I really liked. They played old school rnb, pop, kpop, cpop, hardstyle, edm. Cost around $40 AUD with 1 free drink voucher (ticket purchased at the door) on a Saturday night.
Went on a ladies night and it was super boring… small crowd and people just vomited on the floor here and there 🤢 drink was pretty diluted as well but bartenders are quite friendly. Lighting is dimmer than other clubs and tables are priced at $300, capped at 5 pax.
The absolute worst experience ever. Don't buy any tickets online. I bought tickets to an event online hosted by Cherry Discotheque. When I reached, I saw a massive queue for everyone regardless of whether you already had a valid ticket or not. People tried to push there way into the front of the queue and when we asked the staff about why the queue wasn't moving along, the guy at the door smirked and said that the delay was because they are checking everyone's ID thoroughly. I pointed out that as of the past 15 minutes, there was no one at the queue to check the ID. He merely smirked saying 'they're trying their best'. They refused refunds to anyone wanting to leave the queue. And at one point, they just stopped letting anyone in at all.
